Here is some information about my background so that you know exactly the kind of quality education and professionalism that you will receive when you decide to take lessons with me.
Growing up in Dublin, Ireland I got my start playing guitar as an accompanist in church, and then in neighborhood music groups. As a teenager I had stints in local rock, punk and new wave bands, and began teaching guitar to friends and children in the area. I became interested in classical guitar in my twenties and relocated to London where I trained at the Royal College of Music. Later I emigrated to New York and trained professionally for an additional four years at the American Institute of Guitar.
I have been playing guitar for over 35 years, and teaching guitar in Boulder (ages 6 and up) since 2002. My aim is to inspire creative expression and logical thinking through sharing the love of guitar in a fun and supportive learning atmosphere.
Paul earned his Bachelor’s Degree in Music at Naropa University. He is a member of the National Association of Music Educators and the Colorado Music Educators Association.
